Hi, I'm Gerardo!
I’m a Houston-based portrait and lifestyle photographer with a love for capturing people in a way that feels real, natural, and true to who they are. Whether it’s grad photos, couples sessions, birthdays, or just wanting some solid pictures for yourself, my goal is to make the entire experience feel easy and enjoyable, not stiff or overly posed.
A lot of the people I photograph are celebrating milestones, accomplishments, or important moments in their lives, and being able to capture that for them is honestly one of my favorite parts about photography.
A little about me
Outside of photography, I’m also a Registered Nurse, and balancing both worlds has honestly taught me a lot about people, connection, and being present in important moments. Whether it’s in a hospital room or behind a camera, I’ve learned how important it is to make people feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely seen.
Photography originally started as a creative outlet for me, but over time it became something I genuinely fell in love with. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, lighting, emotion, and the way an image can freeze a moment in time forever.
When I’m not working as a nurse or editing photos, I’m probably:
- Listening to music
- Working on something creative
- Playing games
- Looking at cars
I also spent years playing multi-tenors in Prairie View A&M’s Marching Storm, which honestly shaped a lot of my creativity and attention to detail.
My Approach
I’m not the type of photographer that wants sessions to feel rushed or overly structured. My approach is pretty simple: keep things relaxed, make sure you’re comfortable, and create photos that feel natural and authentic to you.
Most people aren’t professional models—and they don’t need to be. I’ll help guide you with posing, angles, movement, and all the little details throughout the session so you never feel awkward or unsure of what to do.
Whether you come in with a full Pinterest board or absolutely no idea what you want, we’ll figure it out together and create something that actually feels like you.
My style
My biggest goal during a session is making sure you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Most people tell me they’re awkward or don’t know how to pose before we start, and that’s completely normal. I’ll guide you through everything naturally so the session never feels forced or stressful.
I like photos that feel clean, cinematic, and genuine. Some sessions are more laid back and candid, while others are bold and creative, it really just depends on your vision. Either way, I want your photos to feel like you, not like something copied straight off Pinterest.
